[Mediawiki-l] Image's Accompanying Files

I tried creating a link to it on the Image: page but when I go to upload
it I get this error.

".vsd" is not a recommended image file format. 

I still get the error after changing 

$wgFileExtensions[] = 'pdf';

to

$wgFileExtensions[] = array('pdf','vsd');

Is there something else I have to do?  Should the changes be instant?
