[Mediawiki-l] I have an odd user login problem

I have a small wiki, very small user base. I have set up user name and
password requirement to view and read most of the wiki.

I have one user who is having issues logging into the wiki after many
month without issue.

The only odd thing I have found on the server side so far is repeating
log entree in /var/log/httpd/error

[Mon Sep 04 14:20:39 2006] [error] [client 192.168.1.10] File does not
exist: /var/www/wiki/User:Joe, referer:
http://wiki.example.com/index.php?title=Special:Userlogin&action=submitlogin&type=login&returnto=Main_Page

I don't quit understand why it is looking for /var/www/wiki/User:Joe
and not /var/www/wiki/index.php/User:Joe

any input is much appreciated thanks
