[Mediawiki-l] I get the following error : Incomplete GD library configuration: missing function imagecreatefromjpeg

hi,
   i'm currently running mediawiki 1.6.5. Everything is working great, cept i'm having problems with images. I can upload them and view them in their original size, however if i try modifiying the view using thumbs etc i get the following error message ( Incomplete GD library configuration: missing function imagecreatefromjpeg ) . This happens with all picture formats.... HALP!!
