To make a long story short, it seems the trouble is,
at least in part,
this variable in the LocalSettings.php file:
$wgScriptPath = "/web_sites/gutteridge.info/web";
$wgScriptPath is a URL path and that sounds more like a filesystem path, so I'm
assuming you meant to set $IP instead.
As of MediaWiki 1.6, the default LocalSettings.php that's generated on
installation includes automatic detection of the local filesystem path. If you
have an older config file you can copy this:
# If you customize your file layout, set $IP to the directory that contains
# the other MediaWiki files. It will be used as a base to locate files.
if( defined( 'MW_INSTALL_PATH' ) ) {
$IP = MW_INSTALL_PATH;
} else {
$IP = dirname( __FILE__ );
}
The Wiki in my home environment is located at:
http://localhost/web_sites/gutteridge.info/web
Do you *really* mean that? If so, your web site has an unnecessarily difficult
URL structure, which will make your site harder to use for visitors.
Consider setting up name-based virtual servers or another more convenient scheme.
