[Mediawiki-l] How to change the footer

Hi!
I have two questions.

. I would like to add a link at the footer. How to do it?

. When adding an article at the Wikipedia one can see at the bottom that a
nice Javascript capability have been added
in order to "click-and-add" characters like á é í ó ú, ä, ö, etc. I believe
that this must be somehow added at the MessageXX.php
file. If true, how to do it?
