[Mediawiki-l] ParserFunctions MediaWiki 1.6.3

I have tried to install ParserFunctions in MediaWiki 1.6.3, but it doesn't
seem to work. 

The version of one system is  MediaWiki: 1.6.3, PHP: 4.4.0 (apache), MySQL:
4.1.9 

and the other one is MediaWiki 1.6.3, PHP 5.1.2 (apache2handler), MySQL
5.0.18

Is it supposed to work with 1.6.3? I also tried downloading 1.6.4, but I
didn't see anything which looked like it would make a difference.
