It's quite possible that it's broken. A lot of extensions seem to have
been abandoned, and are no longer compatible with MediaWiki 1.6 and
1.7alpha - in fact, this is quite likely the case for any extension
which isn't maintained by a developer or which isn't used live on
Wikimedia sites.
