Procedure:

# mysql -u root -p
create database wikidb;
# mysql -u root -p < wikimediadump.sql
grant create, select, insert, update, delete, lock tables on wikidb.* to 
wiki at localhost identified by 'password';

# cd mediawiki-1.7.1/
# cd maintenance/
# php ./update.php
