[Mediawiki-l] MediaWiki: messages

Is it possible to comment the messages stored in the MediaWIki:
namespace and then not have those comments included when calling then
from a plugin or other code? <noinclude /> keeps the comments out in
the page is included in another wiki article, but is there a way to do
similar in code? None of the wfMsg* functions that I glanced at or
tried did what I wanted.

Thoughts?
