[Mediawiki-l] PHP 5.0.0 Needed

Hi there fellow MediaWiki users

I am running Ubuntu Dapper-Drake with PHP 5.1.2 and Apache 2. The current
MediaWiki package available from the Ubuntu Repositories is
"mediawiki_1.4.14-1ubuntu1_all.deb", which is a number of versions behind.
Of course when you install with the .deb package it runs smoothly as PHP 5
was not necessary with MediaWiki 1.4.14. I have placed the MediaWiki files
in the document root for apache. I browse to http://192.168.0.2/wiki/ and it
tells me MediaWiki 1.7.1, Please setup
<http://192.168.0.2/wiki/config/index.php>  the wiki first. When I click
setup the wiki <http://192.168.0.2/wiki/config/index.php>  I get the
following error:

"PHP 5.0.0 or higher is required. ABORTING."

 

Please help?!
