[Mediawiki-l] german umlauts gone today, yesterday it works

Hello,
i am absolute sure it works yesterday but today i get always the
following error display:

for all article that contains ÄÖÜäöü (umlauts) in the title.
I am surprised what happend, nothing was changed in the config in the
wiki, and how to fix the problem.

MediaWiki: 1.7.1
PHP: 5.1.4-1.dotdeb.3 (cgi-fcgi)
MySQL: 5.0.22-Debian_1.dotdeb.1-log
