Yes, I've read about the issue. I made a small modification to the phpBB
code so that it applies tighter restrictions when validating the new users.
It's a new wiki/forum so I had the luxury of affording this restriction.
In phpBB, you need to modify file functions_validate.php, function
validate_username. You can copy functions isIP and isValidUserName from
MediaWiki and re-use them in phpBB to have consistent validation.

users who had diacritic letters in their user name. 8-(
