[Mediawiki-l] user administration

I have MediaWiki running on Solaris and for the time being I can't use
the ldap plugin.
I'm having a problem in that users are creating accounts with Ids which
do not match their windows ID so if in the future we get openldap to
compile and start using the plugin they will have different Ids.

It is fairly easy for me to look at an ID on the Special:Listusers page
and tell if it is their windows ID or not.  Rather than just deleting
their account I'd rather send them an e-mail.

Are there any good user administration extensions out there or do I have
to go directly into the database to find their e-mail addresses?  If I
do have to go in the database are there any good free graphical tools to
use to connect to the mysql database or should I just use the command
line?
