[Mediawiki-l] mediawiki 1.4.8, fulltext substring search, how?

Hello,

I have read all mediawiki pages, that
talk about searching in mediawiki.

So I hope this is no RFTM.

Can you tell me how to enable a true substring-
fulltext-search in mediawiki 1.4.8?

I have switched from another wiki to mediawiki
and find it disappointing, that only complete
matching words are found inside of a page.

I hope I don't have to switch to another searchengine,
i.e. LuceneSearch, which would
introduce even more problems.
