two notes i'd like to make, in my noobishness before i emailed I
thought that in editing the two pages i had to substitue the name of
my wiki for 'MediaWiki', this is obviously not so as anybody that
isn't up before 6 without coffee and tell you.
2. MediaWiki:Nogomatch will only be shown if you search for a term
that exists on your(the) wiki, but doesn't have an exact match article
title.

Which version of MediaWiki are you using? The Wikicities instructions
were aimed at MediaWiki 1.4.
The MediaWiki mailing list is better for this sort of question unless
you are talking about a Wikimedia site. You can subscribe to that at
