The quick brown [[fox]] jumped over the lazy [[dog]].

[[fox]] will become a link to the article "fox"; [[dog]] a link to the
article "dog". I recommend you create a local sandbox (or use the
sandbox on Wikipedia) to experiment with this if you have any further
difficulties.

If I'm editing a page and want to link the the next word in the text, let's say the word 'sentance' as a link to another page in my wiki, could some one please show me a simple example of how to do that? What is the code that would be placed on the current page (the one being edited) and how would one link the word in this example "sentence" to an already existing page.
