[Mediawiki-l] my wiki site is in Chinese, backup and restore problem

Hi all,
I have asked question about backup and restore problem
for quite a while.

My site is in Chinese and I am using zh-cn which is
the simplified Chinese.

so I guess when I use mysqldump to backup the
database, I sould do the following

mysqldump -u root -p --single-transaction
--default-character-set= gb2312 chpwikidb > backup.sql

But then I got the following msg on the command line,

mysqldump: Character set '' is not a compiled
character set and is not specified in the
'/usr/share/mysql/charsets/Index.xml' file


Can someone let me know how to fix this problem
