[Mediawiki-l] internal upload image error

Isn't it normal to make directories executable as well as readable? I
think it only affects listing the contents but it could cause a problem
with copying.

>From memory I think the command is:

chmod 777 images

Subject: [Mediawiki-l] internal upload image error

Hi,
I am running mediawiki 1.5.2 on Fedora core 4.

I keep getting the upload image error, such as

cannot copy /tmp/phpVL2K3M"    to
"/var/www/wiki/images/8/80/Wikitoolbar.gif"

I change the permission of the images directory to the following

drw-rw-rw-   2 apache apache  4096 Nov  9 16:27 images

I have the followings in the LocalSettings.php

$wgEnableUploads		= true;
$wgUseImageResize		= true;
$wgUseImageMagick = true;
$wgImageMagickConvertCommand = "/usr/bin/convert"; $wgVerifyMimeType =
false;

Any suggestions?
Thanks
jc
