It's really awesome for me personally to see communities like this<br>
form on their own. I'd like to extend an invitation to the new group<br>
to collaborate with the Cloud Services team [2] and the Tool Labs<br>
standards committee [3] in their program work. Efforts to make it<br>
easier for people to develop, maintain, and publicize technical<br>
contributions to the Wikimedia movement are important work for our<br>
collective future.</blockquote><div><br></div><div>Indeed, I was very happy to see this new group formed as well. Let me extend the invitation to collaborate with the Onboarding New Developers program [4] (work in progress), where we are looking for featured projects [5] (also WIP) willing to get help from newcomers. Tools are clearly a good entry point for developers approaching Wikimedia with a fresh mind and new ideas. Current tool developers could also benefit more from our developer support and activities. Having a representative group might definitely help.
