[Labs-l] Upgrading labs db replicas to MariaDB 10

2014-07-31 02:00:00 we will switch s1 enwiki.labsdb over the MariaDB 10
with the same potential downtime impact:

1. Downtime ~30m, during which tool connections may fail for enwiki.labsdb.

2. Several hours of read-only access to enwiki.labsdb while labs user data
is migrated across.

3. Several more hours during which slow traffic may be throttled or killed,
while caches warm up.

Last time the ~30m downtime estimate was wrong due to a bug and additional
service restart which took longer than planned. This time around the
estimate should be more accurate.

In an emergency enwiki_p is also available on labsdb1002 accessible by, eg,
commonswiki.labsdb. However please don't go and hammer that box unless it
is a proper emergency.
