It's different. It has orchestration, remote execution, config management,
events (and reactors, which react to events), and can manage network
devices via config management/modules/etc..

Also, it's written in python, which for ruby haters like me is a massive
plus.

Have you visited the page lately? There's a puppet status column in the
instance list. There's also now:
