In that case, I'd suggest to just increase the memory limit for your
grid jobs; we have a number of jobs requesting ~4GB memory already
(see https://tools.wmflabs.org/?status , the second number in the VMEM
column). The Grid will take care of making sure the servers don't get
overwhelmed.
