It was bad, because it's a process that was out-of-the way and while
some of us did keep an eye on it, it was irregular and sometimes the
list could grow without anyone noticing.

We have already noticed this as a problem, and have put a measure in
place to help: there is now a bot that warns us on IRC when a shell
request is pending, and it's now a matter of hours at most before a
request gets answered.

Yes it does.  Nominally, that's part of my job but - at this time - I've
had little time for much documentation beyond a simplified overview of
some of the key points; much of my time has been spent on implementation.

I'm hoping I'll be able to give a documentation rush in the following
weeks but, to be perfectly honest, I expect that this will be one of the
primary benefits of the Amsterdam Hackaton while we're sitting with
maintainers and actually working on transition.
