Hi there Michael, I've attempted to cut and paste the emails. Are you able
to see them now?
Leilah
Hello Dear Wikipedia,
I would like to bring to your attention the aesthetic variations between
pictorials relating to the human reproductive organs (genitals).
The main observation is the aesthetic variances between the human male and
human female depictions of genitals.
It is also interesting to note the ratio of male genital depictions versus
female genital depictions.
Would it not be more consistent to use a more balanced and cohesive
aesthetic style across the whole subject of human reproduction and
sexuality?
I look forward to your response, and thank you in advance.
With regards,
Leilah

Hi Aaron,
Thanks for your quick response.
Censorship was not the basis of my observation, and apologies if this was
unclear.
I hold the belief that Wikimedia is pro-active in moderating content for
balance regardless of position on censorship etcetera.
I, too, don't necessarily like censorship especially where education is
concerned.
That said, it seems there is some inadvert self-censorship of male human
genitalia taking effect on Wikipedia.
Your response suggests this is by the contributors themselves.
I don't want to scare you (I really don't), but it might be interesting for
Wikimedia to note the ratio of male to female contributors.
In any case, thanks again.

Hi, I would just like to add that I am embarrassed for you in making the
assumption that my observations are based on censorship.

OK, thanks for being so open about that. A gender gap is not unusual. :)
I'm not sure how I could/can help.
Maybe, at this point in the development of Wikipedia, the gender ratio of
moderators is another way...
But I guess moderators are appointed on the basis of their input as
contributors...
I'm sure Wikipedia is working on it.
Thanks and best for the day,
L

Hi again, here is a (somewhat outdated) article on the gender ratio of
teachers in London.
http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/article-23373976-discipline-fears-as-female-teachers-outnumber-male-peers-by-12-to-1.do
Some food for thought on those mailing lists, perhaps? Why not approach
schools for contributors? If you haven't already. :)

OK! Thanks! Presumably there is no other way for me.
Have a good weekend.
