Nice theory but dead tree storage eats up serious space. When even the
cleaners cupboard is half full of old text books you have a problem.
Various ideas have been tried but there is a limit to the use third
world countries can get out of the books if they don't speak English
and very few people want to buy old text books. Thus pulping is the
best that can reasonably be expected.
