Its stereotypically American to threaten a lawsuit at every turn, but its
also pretty normal for first year law students to think that a lawsuit is
around every corner. I fundamentally disagree with Dan that the WMF is
responsible for ensuring the safety of every attendee, or that everyone
should be able to attend regardless of their personal threshold of fear. The
WMF is not your parent, and even your parents aren't responsible for
protecting you from 100% of the bad things in the world. As you say - this
is the real world, not Wikipedia. Sometimes not everyone can go, just like
not everyone has Internet access to read Wikipedia.
