Reading Erik's e-mail and the press release at zotero.org
(http://www.zotero.org/blog/zotero-and-the-internet-archive-join-forces/),
I'm not sure whether this project is a centralised citation database,
a centralised source database, a website annotation tool, or all
three?

Isn't this similar to one of the proposed implementations of WikiData
(http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WikiData), now implemented by
scionline.org? That is, a tool that stores references centrally to
make references more useful and more easy to use (scionline.org "uses
a popup to allow editors to enter citations as they edit text").
