I certainly endorse the idea of making earlier selections of the
Wikimania sites to allow longer-term advance planning. On the other
hand, it may not make a lot of sense for people to start putting much
time into planning 2009 bids until the winner for 2008 is selected.
E.g., if Atlanta is selected for 2008, then probably no U.S. city
should bother putting in a bid for 2009, and so no one is going to
start planning (hypothetical example) New York 2009 until the 2008
location is announced, and so on. Does the schedule take this into
account?
