I moved to St. Pete because the office is there. I was hesitant--the very
idea of moving out of a big city (New York) to a medium sized city in Florida
was somewhat daunting.

Let me tell you--I love it. I have made a few close friendships, and I feel
that I am a part of the town (a euphemism for "the various local bartenders
know me by name"). In a formal, office sense, we are a small organization, and
will be so for the foreseeable future. In a town like St. Pete, we are a
fixture. We stand out. We are the big kids on the block.

I've recently been talking to a local college that wants to organize a group
of volunteers to help us in so many of the tasks that need help. I don't
know that we would get that kind of support in a big city, with so many groups
competing for that help. And I believe we've only scratched the surface of how
the local town can help us.

Besides, it is nice to know that Jimmy and Michael are right around the
corner and will be popping in to help as needed.

All I miss is the snow.

Danny
