That's... an interesting question. Certainly whenever I've seen them
discussed as a practical issue along with copyright, their expiry has
never been brought up - but then, most works discussing copyright as a
practical issue only briefly mention its expiry, because the bulk of
what you have to deal with is undeniably in copyright
