[Foundation-l] Meta:MetaProject to Overhaul Meta

What is it that you want meta to be? And how would moving content to a
different site (in many cases for a second time since a lot of this
was already moved off Wikipedia) help? Wouldn't that just break links
from many pages on Wikipedia and externally?

It's possible to organise the site without deleting (especially
redirects which aren't in the way of anything).

I appreciate the attempt to clean the place, and I think, on balance,
you are doing more good than harm, but I would prefer if the cleanup
would be done in a way that does not break links (especially via
deletion of redirects) and in a way that respects the history of the
community (<http://www.usemod.com/cgi-bin/mb.pl?NoRespectForHistory>).

It's not only cyber-archaeologists who find this interesting or
useful, but anyone joining Wikimedia and wanting to know what's
happened there. Adding {{historical}} tags or categories will prevent
any issues with people thinking old discussions are up to date whereas
deleting them will just lead to conflict.
