[Foundation-l] Opinions/suggestions for "outside" members of the board?

Well Mr. Wales, if you believe these people have very good ideas for
Wikimedia (and they most likely do), then I really don't see the harm of
appointing them. However, has something like this worked with other
non-profit organizations?
