Hi all,
You probably do not know me, I'm Galwaygirl from the Dutch Wikipedia and
I have some news to tell you. I went to Wikimania and I met Jan-Bart de
Vreede and Annemiek Nederpel from the Kennisnet Foundation (the Internet
organisation for Dutch schools). Jan-Bart was a speaker at Wikimania.

The week after Wikimania, Jan-Bart asked me to go to work for Kennisnet.
Kennisnet has some initiatives regarding ways to use Wikipedia in
classrooms. Jan-Bart was looking for someone from the Dutch Wikipedia
community to work with.
That someone turned out to be me, much to my surprise. So now I'm
working for Kennisnet as a part-time freelancer (yes, I'm getting paid).
I will be working on my own account, not as a representative of the
nl.wikipedia community, although it may sometimes prove impossible to
keep things absolutely separate.
There are several things I will be doing for Kennisnet, basically it
comes down to this:
*I'll write a simple, easy-to-use manual that Kennisnet can make
available for students and teachers. This manual could be published on
the Dutch Wikipedia as well.
*I'll participate in talks about how to use Wikipedia in classrooms.
*When Wikipedia is actually starting to get used in classrooms, I will
answer specific questions from both students and teachers.
I thought this might interest some of you. Personally, I'm really exited
about this, as it is a wonderful turn in my "career". :-)
Thanks for your attention,
Regards,
Galwaygirl
