[Flow Funding] Faculty of Economics Skopje

Dear Flow Funders,

It's my pleasure to inform you that the project at the Faculty of Economics
in Skopje, fully funded through the FF process, has successfully ended with
all the activities done in the projected time period. Igor, the organiser
of the project, told me that he would have his LOA and wouldn't be able to
make the report right after the conclusion of the final activities.
Meanwhile, I decided to share some of my impressions of this project before
he officially does it.

Note: For the sake of clarity, I opted for a standard Wikification to
present my personal view of the project.

== Activities ==
The following are the activities that were carried on during this project:
* two 30-minutes lectures at the Faculty of Economics in Skopje in front of
~150 students each about Wikipedia with a quick guide of how to edit it;
* a 4-hour lecture given by a guest from Slovenia in front of an
~50-persons audience about a chosen topic in the field of statistics.

== Measures of success ==
I feel inclined to think that the main goals of the project, as stated in
the application form, have been successfully fulfilled. Two of them, give
assignments to the students to edit Wikipedia and providing free knowledge
to a wider audience, that were deemed as the most important, have been
reached as well.

Some of the most important measures of success for me with my own
considerations are listed in turn:
* Number of students engaged: ~70 (albeit about 50 are signed on the project
page<http://mk.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%92%D0%B8%D0%BA%D0%B8%D0%BF%D0%B5%D0%B4%D0%B8%D1%98%D0%B0:%D0%92%D0%B8%D0%BA%D0%B8%D0%9F%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%B5%D0%BA%D1%82_%D0%A1%D1%82%D0%B0%D1%82%D0%B8%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B8%D0%BA%D0%B0_%D0%BD%D0%B0_%D0%95%D0%BA%D0%BE%D0%BD%D0%BE%D0%BC%D1%81%D0%BA%D0%B8_%D1%84%D0%B0%D0%BA%D1%83%D0%BB%D1%82%D0%B5%D1%82>on
the Macedonian Wikipedia);
* Number of articles created: 100+ (albeit about 100 are coloured in blue
out of those listed on the page);
Note: This number is only a relative measure of the success of the project
with no respect to the quality of articles. Some of them have a rather long
copy (such as this<http://mk.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9A%D0%B0%D1%80%D0%BB_%D0%9F%D0%B8%D1%80%D1%81%D0%BE%D0%BD>one),
while others are bit shorter (such as

In general, all of them are either middle-sized articles or
large-sized articles with an estimated proportion of MSs in the total
number of some 60%.

* Number of Wikipedians engaged: 3;
* Number of faculty staff members monitoring: 1;
* Number of lectures: 2 + 1 (one given by the guest).

== Expenditures ==
Igor informed me that there were some savings from the original amount
requested and that he wishes to execute another Wikimedia-related project
instead of transfer the money back to the Wikimedia Foundation.

Potential problem might be the necessity that Igor is facing with his
liability to pay an income tax for the money received from the grant.
Namely, according to the law for international transfers to individuals in
the Republic of Macedonia, each individual has the responsibility to pay a
10% income tax. The same does not apply with organisations  receiving the
money.

== Support ==
The project was supported from the Faculty of Economics in Skopje and the
individual efforts of other parties who were willing to help. Wikimedia
Macedonia did NOT issue any letter of support for the project and none of
its members get actively involved in the project; furthermore, the
President of Wikimedia Macedonia sharply criticised the project during the
meeting and said that he would go as far as he can to terminate the project.

I hope that this is enough as my own perspective for the project. Your
