Jordan:

The incremental dumps run on a daily basis. They typically do not fail. Since I became a maintainer of the dumps about 6 months ago, this set of dumps have not failed once.

Of course, this is where I add the disclaimer you've already read: it may fail at any time, and we may stop doing these dumps.

Having said that, we are gearing up for a re-architecture of the Dumps, and part of that will be a community consultation to see which Dumps are still useful, which formats, how frequent, etc. We will announce that consultation here in the list when it is ready, but for now here is the ticket tracking that effort: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T337887

Hope this helps,

I was reading about incremental xml dumps on this page: https://dumps.wikimedia.org/other/incr/

While I understand this service is experimental and may stop working at a given time, I was curious about how frequent the incremental dumps are when the system is working properly. Also, how common is it for the incremental dumps to stop working?
