Hi all,
A reminder that Wikimania 2025 submissions are due at the end of this month!
It may be helpful to share thoughts here to collaborate on proposals. I'd encourage folks to send their submissions using the "public link" function of the Eventyay system so we know what topics folks are working on or if there's room for collaboration.
Some thoughts on sessions: – It would be good to have a "Wikimdians in Residence" session as in years past. The one in Singapore 2023 was crucial to get our major concerns on the record about the lack of support for metrics and tooling for our GLAM work. I'm happy to help lead this one. – A more technical-oriented session around GLAM tools and contribution may be useful for this group to collaborate on. – Last year's pre-conference day for the Global GLAM meetup for Wikimania was highly successful, though its online streaming may not have been well-known. We could plan for a similar type of session that would be fully supported on the virtual side.
Feel free to send any ideas or thoughts.
Thanks! -Andrew
Hi all, with no responses, I will submit a general Wikimedians in Residence roundtable. Let me know who wants to participate, either remotely or in person. -Andrew

I think this is great that a submission will be made. All things being equal, I will hope to be able to participate (or at least watch)!
On a related topic, will WREN be continuing as an affiliate? It seems somewhat behind in reporting per https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Affiliates_Data_Portal/Reports and hoping this important work will not stop.
Thank you.

I'm interested in the GLAM and will be glad to participate but I'm not a WREN yet.
Kind regards, Mohammed Awal.

Also an update on other GLAM sessions I know of that are being proposed:
1. There is interest in a Global GLAM wiki meetup pre-conference like we had in Katowice, this time with more remote engagement/attendance. I'm working with the Global GLAM Calls group and Connor Benedict (GLOSS) See: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/GLAM/GLOSS
2. There is also interest in a "citizen archiving GLAM content" type session, made more urgent by moves in the United States executive branch and the Smithsonian, IMLS, and other interventions. Possibly in concert with Internet Archive.
3. Future of GLAM tech - Building on my concluded GLAM CSI project, how might the GLAM community move forward on supporting tech needed to do our jobs? What is the current state of affairs, and where might we go next?
Feel free to send any other info on sessions you might know of!
