Hi,

I'm still uncertain if I will come or not (tbh, it will mainly depend on if I've got a scholarship or not) but if I'm here, I'll be glad to share my experience (like Martin, including the use of Wikidata).

Cdlt,
Nicolas

Ok,

This is great that we have so much interest :) - And I hope the cheese will come too...

Unless wrong, we currently have amongst the interested
* Florence, WIPO WIR
* Lane Raspberry
* Blace
* Savannah Cragin : CCCC Wikipedia Initiative to engage scholars in writing studies (i.e. rhetoric, composition, technical communication, literacy, and language studies) to edit Wikipedia as a form of public scholarship.
* James Gaunt : Wikimedia Australia's residencies. https://wikimedia.org.au/wiki/Wikimedian_In_Residence_Wrap_Up
* Martin Poulter : The two distinctive angles I have to offer are that 1) my residency is now explicitly about culturally diversifying Wikimedia projects- not just about the host institution’s collections. 2) using Wikidata queries to support my work on Wikipedia, e.g. to find translations into other languages of articles I’ve written. https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User:MartinPoulter/queries/khalili
* Pierre-Yves Beaudouin if he attends Wikimania
* Hugo Lopez :
part of a project from the Ministry of higher education and research: the ministry is funding 3 WIR per year in 3 big universities + 1 coordinator at Wikimédia France. This project started last month.

This is a link to what we did last year (online) : https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedians_in_Residence_Exchange_Network/Wikimania_2022

Thanks Blace for starting the pad. Much appreciated (I have been dying in my bed from Covid for the last 2 days...)
I copy paste on it my small summary from above

Please start adding your names and let's continue the conversation...

And if I come, I can also organize a WikiCheese session ;)

I’d be happy to be involved. Hi all,

I'd be interested in joining this panel to talk about Wikimedia Australia's residencies.

There's a bit about a residency I did last year here: https://wikimedia.org.au/wiki/Wikimedian_In_Residence_Wrap_Up

Cheers,

Hi Flo & all,

I would be very interested in collaborating on a shared proposal to Wikimania this year. A panel seems like a great idea.

I have not been very involved on the listserv and with the WREN group (apologies!), but as a refresher, I work with the CCCC Wikipedia Initiative to engage scholars in writing studies (i.e. rhetoric, composition, technical communication, literacy, and language studies) to edit Wikipedia as a form of public scholarship.

Cheers,

Savannah
