An Open Invitation to Ancianos!
Greetings dear friends,
We have been planning a Shakespeare at Winedale 55th reunion for Doc's former students, set to take place from *Wednesday, October 8th to Sunday October 12th*. Note: that’s four nights, starting with Wednesday night—we’d arrive on Wednesday and depart on Sunday. *(Please let us know if you would prefer 3 nights instead of 4, especially if that makes a difference as to whether you can participate or not. We currently have arrangements in place for 4 nights; see below for details.)*
We want to know: Are you interested in participating in these days of play, improvs, performances and generally just having fun ?
*Details*:
Accommodations are reserved at Festival Hill Round Top dormitories, where we have stayed for previous reunions. They will provide breakfast and dinner for us. The fees are $92/day including 15% tax per person for the room, and $50/day for breakfast and dinner, for a total of* $142/day/person*. Thank you Jerald for setting this up. There will be additional miscellaneous costs—e.g. barn rental fee of $100 daily (if required) plus lunches and whatever—divided by the number of participants.
*Schedule*:
The schedule at this point is loose and mostly unstructured. Breakfast daily at 9:00am and dinner at 6:00pm. Lunches TBD. After dinner, everyone to the barn for improvs, flash scenes, and performances amongst ourselves.
We plan to pull together a group of scenes, soon, and to announce casting in advance. This will be a “reading performance”—no need to be off book. Days will be spent working on scenes, and other optional activities.
*Reunion Da*y:
On *Saturday, October 11, 2025*, all Ancianos and friends/family are invited to come to Winedale, a mid afternoon lunch will be available (for a minimal fee) and free refreshments, ending with an evening of our performance of scenes. We really hope you can participate for the weekend, or at least please come out on Saturday.
If you have any questions or suggestions about the weekend, please email Mike Godwin (mnemonic@gmail.com).
Please let us know if you would like to be a part of this reunion weekend as soon you can, but *before next Tuesday, if possible*. We must finalize our reservation at Festival Hill and pay the remaining balance two weeks before, or Sept. 24, just under one month from now.
Thanks, and ever thanks,
Kathy, Craig, Stan, and Mike
(and our cadre of additional Anciano alums!)
We'll be lucky to have you! Please feel free, everyone, to share the invitation to other alums who may have dropped off of (or never subscribed to) this list of Doc's former S-at-W students (in whatever program) might want to participate and/or show up to celebrate this Anniversary Year.
Love to all,
Mike
