I just had to share this. Six years ago the month my father died, Donna
and I also lost our good, old orange boy cat named Boris. He disappeared when
we were with my dad as he was dying. We
loved that cat and his disappearance
added to our sadness and grief.
Today I got a phone call from Northwood animal hospital. Boris was brought in my Nancy Yates who took him in three years ago. She fed him along with the five other strays
she was taking care of but let Boris
come into the house when it got cold. His teeth got infected so she brought him
to the Northwood animal hospital to see if he could be saved. He
needed expensive dental surgery and Nancy didn't have that kind of money and
thought he was going to have to be put
down. But the Northwood vets found a microchip in his neck and called me. Even
three years after my cochlear surgery, I am still nervous using phones but this time I answered.
They were calling to tell me Boris was
alive.
I drove right over there and yes it was our
good boy. But very sick. So we are
going to do the surgery and get him back to health and bring him back home where even Nancy Yates--who so generously paid that
day's vet bill and left a contribution towards his future care-- agreed he belongs We are speechless. We stayed
with him until the hospital closed. He will have to stay at Northwood until the surgery on Friday but yesterday when we visited him,
her curled up on Donna’s lap as if he
knew that was where he belonged, stretched out a paw to hold onto her sleeve and the burst into purrs.
Love to you all.
I just entered this contest
that ends April 1st. Please
do vote for Boris. You may have to wait
until later this afternoon after they process his entry. He’s such a good boy—the vet’s say you can’t
pass by his cage without him talking to you or purring.
love
Terry
