Dearest friends,

It is with deep sadness that I inform this group of the sudden death of our fellow classmate, Rob Lallier, summer class of 1975. He passed away unexpectedly on the evening of 5/21/21 in Austin. He is survived by his daughter, stepchildren, and a host of friends who will miss him.

I can still hear Rob giving the “rotten orange” speech as Claudio to Carol as poor Hero. Claudio was never the brightest, but gosh, Rob was so handsome in that sky blue silk peasant shirt. Doc recalls Rob as Ancient Pistol, swaggering in the Henry IV, Part II tavern scene with Terry Galloway as Bardolf. They were memorably crazy and outrageous. I was Falstaff and all I had to do was step aside and give them a very wide berth. Such lovely memories.

"When to the sessions of sweet silent thought
I summon up remembrance of things past.”

Rob, Carol, Laura, Buddy, and I formed our Winedale 1975 book club eleven years ago. Rob was quite the reader, always picking interesting and sometimes challenging books. We were to gather at Rob’s house in two weeks for our first in person gathering since the pandemic to discuss “Hamnet.” We will still meet, but at Carol and Sam’s, instead to share our favorite memories of Rob.

I am not aware of plans for services at this time but will keep you all posted as details emerge.

Take care dear ones. Your friend,

Jerald
