As we celebrate Doc’s birthday, I can’t help but be reminded that now is the time to pony up and make a donation for this summer’s Camp Shakespeare. Knowing the lifetime influence Camp Shakepeare will have on these students for decades to come, and having seen the remarkable meaningful productions of Hamlet and Macbeth in the past two years, I feel a sense of obligation that we should do everything to keep this truly unique and valuable cultural event going. Imagine how empowered we would have felt if we had experienced Shakespeare at Winedale 10 to 15 years earlier in our lives, at a time when a little more self respect and a stronger sense of what we were capable of achieving would have gone a long way. Let’s keep Doc’s legacy going. Let’s pony up.
