Thanks for the headsup, Clayton.  You are correct, the "Barn Dance" is a perfect description of multiple moments of Play that exquisitely grows to a point.   Thomas and I read it on the way down to Winedale, we both cried.  I'm glad it is included.  You also are correct of the extreme pride to be a Longhorn and most notably, a Winedaler.

Thanks for playing your part so well!
Love to all,
Joy

Subject: [Winedale-l] The Texas Book Two, featuring "Barn Dance"

Hey everyone --

Here's an article on the UT home page about the new book that features Alice Gordon's definitive article on the early days of Shakespeare at Winedale, "Barn Dance."  You don't want to miss this -- Alice's story is brilliant and the book is filled with other fascinating pieces on everything from the firing of Homer Price Rainey to the story of when Hank the Hallucination ran for UT student body president.  Just flipping through the beautifully designed edition and looking at all the photos (including a great one of Doc and Terry) makes you proud to be a Longhorn, and a Winedaler -- !

There is a link at the bottom of the article to the UT Press site for the book with ordering info -- only $25 or so, well worth it.
