Dear Doc
These two videos are making me so homesick for Winedale. How I wish I'd been there among you! Doc, you still swing your arms back and forth the way you used to! Such a revelation to realize that. Your pauses. Clayton did a marvelous job with that triangle.
I am in the MFA program here at UMass Amherst and was just yesterday reading James Schuyler's poem Wystan Auden (they lived together for a time?) and he is (in the poem) saying how he'd just missed meeting Brecht and T.S. Eliot , and to think you met the man himself in 1957 and -- not only that -- were impertinent! Why does that not surprise me?! [Your trousers rolled, indeed.]
Nothing personal but I kept wishing the camera would roam around the stage. I could only get little glimpses. Oh, my GOD! Such memories this has stirred in me! I remember arriving early in 1979 and hammering in the heat -- something needed to be finished in the barn, I don't remember what.
Anyway, dear Doc, happy birthday once again. You have a real letter on the way.
Best always -- Maria

Howdy, all.
My man Dan was kind enough to video some of the wonderful birthday moments in the barn. Please enjoy!

P.S. My first time to post videos to YouTube; please forgive any technical mishap.
