We bask in reflected glory.   What an amazing award;  please pass on our congratulations to Liz as it is unlikely we will bump into her in the hallways at UT!

Dear Colleagues,

Liz Fisher, the Shakespeare at Winedale production coordinator, has been selected to receive one of the 2018 Princess Grace Awards.  The Princess Grace Foundation, established by Prince Ranier of Monaco in his wife’s memory, gives grants and scholarships to support emerging artists in theatre, dance, and film. The scholarship will help Liz pursue her MFA in Theatre at Texas State University, while she continues to work with the English Department and Shakespeare at Winedale.

Liz is one of nine winners in the theatre category this year for her work in directing.  She will receive her award from the current Princess of Monaco at a Gala in New York on October 16th.  Other winners this year come from places like the Yale School of Drama, NYU, and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, so Liz is in distinguished company.  Past Princess Grace winners in theatre have included Tony Kushner, Oscar Isaac, and Leslie Odom Jr..
