Alas, so sad to hear of Edith's passing. She and Angeline were such a
presence at Winedale, always making us feel special, always working. I can
still smell the cookies baking. And all the Klumps!! such lovely
people, so many memories of kegs and pecan trees, barbeque and polkas.
I like Craig's idea, a Day of Remembrance. I also love the cedar
plaques posted in the Barn since we probably won't all be able to have
benches, although the thought still lingers.... Cedar
has such delicious properties and would add a lovely ambience.
Great idea, Doc! Maybe on Remembrance Day we could bring sprigs of
lavender, rosemary, thyme and other herbs or flowers to decorate the
plaques.
Apparently we should get started. Time is a very bankrupt!
Love to all,
Joy

Subject: [Winedale-l] Edith Klump
Edith died Friday. She was buried on Sunday. Edith,
together with
Angelene, performed cooking miracles for us at
the Lauderdale House
dormitory from '70-81. She loved cooking for
Shakespeare at Winedale
students. Was indeed very proud to
have been a part of our
experience. Her obituary carried that
message. I'm sure many of you
will remember Ronnie Klump, her son,
who worked on the property
planting and mowing, and her grandson,
Russell Klump, who performed in
several plays, CE, ADO, MV, with my
son Jonathan. Lots of good
memories
there.
Doc
