Hi,
I have some questions about the conference programme, because it's not very clear to me how it is going to be structured and I would like to have time to prepare and to think about what kind of contribution could I bring with me.
I can imagine from the information you are asking on Meta that you probably plan to have some trainings and for sure there will be some lightning talks, but what about other presentation formats? If I wanted to propose a session which is not a lightning talk, what should I do?
I see that there is a programme committee, but beside this email I did not see any call for proposals or similar (or maybe there was one and I completely missed it?). So could you please tell us something more about what the general plans are? Will there be any open call or discussion about the conference programme or is the committee taking all the decisions?

Thank you and see you in Mexico!

Hi friends attending WikiWomen Camp!

To those of you I don't yet know, hello! I am Katy, and I lead the Community Resources team at the Wikimedia Foundation. I am thrilled that you will be joining the WikiWomen Camp in Mexico in July. We are well into the planning.  I am confident it is going to be a fabulous event!

I have a few requests for you, to prepare us all to take advantage of our precious three days together.

1. Please add your name and answers to the questions on the participant page of the conference portal! There, kindly answer questions about what you want to learn, what 5 min lightning talks you want to give, and what on-wiki skills you want to learn. This is information we need to design the best possible event for all of us!

2. Visit and contribute to the resources page.

3. A reminder that this event will follow a Friendly Space policy. Take a look at that page and review the policy.

This event will be most successful if we all come prepared to contribute and to learn. We know that networking is important to participants, so we are getting started now on the portal with introductions, and identifying skills, projects and opportunities for collaboration.

Finally, I want to give a big shout out to the organizing team: María Sefidari, Carmen Alcázar,  Anna Torres, Iván Martínez, Kacie Harold, and Alex Wang. It takes a village to organize an event like this! Thank you for all you've given to organize this so far.

Looking forward to seeing you all in Mexico City!

Un abrazo,
Katy
