Some folks who recently following the link we had in the site notice to the email list and subscribed may have been thinking we were more of an announcement list than the site management and technical discussion list we have become and will probably remain at this point. We could start a Wikivoyage Announce or Wikivoyage News email list to serve those folks and only post Wikivoyage News and Announcements on it. Such notices could be community authored on the wiki and mailed once a month, or less, or only when we have written something noteworthy. Just a thought if someone wants to take that on. Meanwhile, let's update our Wikivoyage-l list description on the list's Mail Man page (linked to in mail footer). It has past its sell by date. It currently says: "The mailing list for Wikivoyage, a planned Wikimedia project dedicating to making freely licensed information about travel destination and other travel-related topics available to everyone on the planet, in their own language." Let's update it to, maybe this: "The Wikivoyage-l mailing list discusses ongoing issues and technical stuff." (or something snappier but equally clear about what mail to expect) Who can do this description update?
