Not sure what the status on this is, will take a peek later. If you just
need a comment that should be fine though...

No solution yet, but I've re-opened a bug entry that covered this, which
appears to have been mistakenly duplicated to an unrelated bug:

It's probably not too difficult to fix, but will require a fix in the
TimedMediaHandler extension's subtitle display system. Which is a little
scary. :) I'll see if I can figure it out...
