I was recently talking to my colleague Iain Thomson @ OLPC oceania,
and he mentioned some of the work going on on Niue (the first nation
in the world to reach saturation @ one laptop per child :) in terms of
producing open content and learning materials. Among their
initiatives, they have a complete niu <--> en dictionary that seems
likely to be available under a free license. Presumably it would be
more complete than bestselling author Philip Parker's version[1]. It
would need digitization and some posting online... but this could
launch niu.wiktionary.org ...

Are there any active wiktionary efforts for related Oceanic languages?
I think there is other great material coming out of oceania thanks to
Ian and David Leeming that should soon be available for wiktionary,
wikisource, and wikiversity.
