Here's the demo, where you can edit some canned texts (but not actual Wikipedia articles, yet):

And here's the blog post, which puts it more in context.

This new editor was mostly written by Trevor Parscal and Inez Korczyński, although lots of others have contributed. I've sat a desk away from them for a few months and I have to say I'm extremely impressed with what they've put together. If you're expecting Google Docs, we're not there yet. But the basics are starting to solidify, and it's getting easier and easier to add cool features.
Hey MediaWiki developers, surely you're not going to let Trevor and Inez have *all* the fun?
Hello,
Congratulations! It look so nice that I think that will be really popular. For me, the greatest thing about this is how nicely the HTML looks.
I still have not given up my dream, that one day I will be able to create a plugin to this new editor trough which one could access Sztakipedia's recommender functions. With this brilliant editor it should be much easier than with the old textarea...
Do you have any plans to create a standard plugin interface? If you would give me some pointers at some point in the future on how a plugin should be integrated than I would assume the task of creating a simple demo-plugin + howto docs. I believe that the ability to easily create plugins will enable the tech-savvy users to make editing as easy as possible.
BTW: Sztakipedia toolbar (for the old editor :( ) went to beta: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VW0TrvXpl4
